Our Approach to Consulting

DLCG Facilitative Consultants use a Process Consulting approach that draws on many of the established models and techniques from the fields of Organization Development and Management Consulting, to deliver a powerful, process oriented methodology for significantly improving individual, group and organizational performance.

What is Process Consulting?

Process Consulting, while it has been around for many years, is hot. Many people are just learning the value of it. As with many buzz words of the past, today, everyone wants to be seen as process consultants, whether they do process consulting or not. Google it and you will see page after page of IT, Quality, and Process Design firms calling what they do Process Consulting. This is not process consulting. In many cases it is consulting to design or improve a process.

"Process Consultation is a set of activities on the part of the consultant which help the client to perceive, understand and act upon process events which occur in the client's environment." (Edgar H. Schein, Process Consultation: It's Role in Organization Development)

Process Consulting Approach

Process consulting is rooted in the organizational development field, building on the work of Edgar Schein. It operates on the core assumption that one can only help a human system help itself, be that an individual, organization or community. It uses active inquiry and listening in order to establish healthy helping relationships.

Learn why Process Consulting is Beneficial to Our Clients.

It is an interventions-based approach that helps uncover issues and unique knowledge of the group to solve the issues they are faced with. Critical to this approach is the idea that we are there to help our clients learn how to address future issues while we help them deal with the current issue. So knowledge transfer of the group process is important.

Our diverse network of consultants are the result of the years we've spent in our community networking with other professionals. We have become well known as a peer among the leaders in our industry.
