Business Process Reengineering
(BPR)
If improvements are just not measuring
up to your expectations and the pressure is on you to make it work, then perhaps
it’s time you considered reengineering your processes.
BPR is sometimes described as radical
change or process improvement on a large scale. Small scale improvements are
appropriate on a continuing basis when your processes are stable and
accomplishing their intended purpose. Most successful organizations have built
in the process of continual improvement. Even with continual improvements, every
so often, major changes are required that routine process or procedural
improvements cannot achieve. These changes are often precipitated by
competition, evolving business structure, advancing technology, or the changing
needs of the customer. That is when BPR is your logical choice.
Consider this…
- Does your system or organization
require a major change?
- Is the change you desire a large one?
- Are you about to tackle
reorganization?
- Are you in need of a new enterprise
system for running the business?
- Are you embarking on a new venture or
mission?
If you answer Yes to any of the above,
we can help.
Executives and managers most likely
understand what needs to be done. We are all familiar with the reengineering
books by Hammer and Champy. DLCG has taken the best of them and synthesized an
approach that includes our own wisdom gained over the years, called
Whole Systems Reengineering. This approach has three parts:
- New Concept Design
- Structural Change
Implementation and Management
- IT System
Development and Deployment
New Concept Design
portion of this process includes problem definition, describing the “As-Is”
process/system, creating the breakthrough change ideas, designing the “To-Be”
process/system, developing an implementation plan. We design and facilitate your
BPR team sessions to accomplish this.
Structural adjustment
is a major part of implementing the changes. These organizational changes must
be identified, defined, sequenced and executed in a logical manner with a
maximum of “buy-in” of those folks most affected by the change. We design and
facilitate your reorganization team sessions to accomplish this.
IT System development
and deployment is generally done by others more expert in programming, testing
and launching. We facilitate Requirements Gathering sessions for you and your IT
Developer.
Our experience across a variety of
organization has shown time and again that the people in the system undergoing
radical change should be the ones involved in creating that change.
Consequently, we use a team-based approach at various stages of the project to
provide the intelligence and profound knowledge required toward making the best
decisions and ensuring the greatest success in implementation.
