ASCENT - Facilitator Certification Preparations
Ensure Your Success
Deciding to become a Certified Professional Facilitator is a big step in your professional life. For some it can be an expensive proposition as well. Why not avail yourself of a great and inexpensive opportunity to ensure that your preparations target success. Ascent is that opportunity.
Purpose
The purpose of the Ascent is to promote and support experienced facilitators as they seek the summit of professional certification from the International Association of Facilitators. This is not a training course! An "experienced facilitator" will have 2 years of experience and at least one formal course in group facilitation.
Given that, even experienced facilitators cannot help but to learn from other professionals in their Ascent group.
Learn from Your Guide
The IAF CPF accreditation process is a rigorous examination of your skills and experience as a facilitator. The process includes a comprehensive application, synopsis describing and demonstrating your competencies, interviews and a practical session in front of a highly skilled and certified team of assessors.
Your guides are part of only a handful of facilitators in the Mid-Atlantic region recognized by IAF as Certified Professional Facilitators. They have successfully completed the certification process and are enjoying the benefits of this professional designation.
There are never enough true professionals so they are ready to guide and support you in your quest for professional certification. Facilitators are just now receiving the professional recognition they deserve. Through education and outreach the DLCG and MAFN hope to expand the awareness and value of professional facilitators.
The Route to Success
The Ascent Group is a service provided by DLCG for the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network to support certification candidates in preparation for their assessment. As a member of the Ascent Group you will be guided and mentored by Certified Professional Facilitators who have successfully completed the IAF CPF Accreditation Process. The Ascent is a six phase process as shown in the graphic above. Each Ascent group can take between 4 and 6 months to reach the summit.
Earn the Recognition You Deserve
The CPF Certification program is independently managed and conducted by highly trained Certified Professional Facilitator Assessors through the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). CPF is the only independently established standard for cerftification for professional group facilitators.
Benefits of Professional Certification
- Easily communicate your qualifications to current and potential customers.
- Independent assessment of your skills and areas of improvement.
- Stand out from the crowd – CPF is the differentiator in a crowd of vanilla facilitators.
- Inclusion in the IAF and MAFN list of CPFs.
- Be in demand as organizations and agencies start requiring CPFs in contracts.
- Be included with other facilitation companies that only use CPFs to serve their clients.
