Individual & Family Emergency Preparedness Planning
This is where the buck stops for planning, and taking targeted actions, to mitigate the impact of an emergency, as well as ensuring your survival beyond the initial impact of an energency situation. For this approach we provide materials for planning, consulting to aid in design, development, and preparing space for emergencies.
The DLCG planning process is a two phase approach.
- Phase 1 is Threat Assessment and Plan Development. This phase takes just a few hours to learn what you need to know.
Phase 2 is documenting and posting the plan, taking recommended actions, and gathering the supplies needed for your Emergency Preparedness System.
The Family Planning Guide (Planning Worksheets ) are designed around a four step process.
Step 1: Find Out What Could Happen - is about gathering information and assessing the threats and your general and specific needs with respect to the most likely threats for your region.
Step 2: Create a Family Emergency Plan - discusses the needs and decisions you need to make in developing your emergency plan.
Step 3: Complete Your Checklists - discusses general and specific things you should do to prepare including evacuation planning, Shelter-in-Place planning and other special considerations. These are things that are done in phase 2.
Step 4: Practice and Maintain Your Plan - a checklist with things you should do to keep your plans current and your family aware of their responsibilities and appropriate actions to take should an emergency suddenly arrise.
The Threat Information Package contains 20 common threats that we have researched for you. We provide an overview of the threat discuss risk assessment, and planning wisdom that we have drawn from our research.
The 3-Part Emergency Kit System are lists of items we feel you should have in your emergency kit. We suggest you gather supplies for five types of kits: Safe-At-Home Kit, Evacuation Kit, Auto Ready Kit, and a TakeAway Pack in a Master and Individual version. There is some redundancy between the kits but it is necessary. If you follow the recommendations we believe you will have food, water and other supplies for at least 10 days at home and 5 days if you have to evacuate.
The Family Emergency Plan is the document we put together to post our Emergency Checklists next to our front door. It contains the information we will need in the event of an ordered evacuation. The Ckecklists provide a prioritized list of things to do or get depending on they type of emergency.
All four documents that make up the Family Emergency Planning Series are available under a single users licence. This means that when you purchase the document you agree that it will only be used for planning for you or your immediate family (those living with you in your house) and that you will not make copies for others. Of course you may purchase more than one licence. In that case the documents will be emailed to the person that will be licenced to use it. There is no limitation on the number of times you use it for yourself.
We are also available to deliver this as a two hour workshop for individuals and families for churches and community groups. If this interests you please contact us.
